    It appears to keep the connecting rod straight on the power stroke as well.

          I hate this stuff especially when electric motors are really coming on-line. We don't need the complexity and increased parts failure of turbos and VC. We have 10x the number of parts to break in a ICE vs. electric motor. We have really stupid complex engine designs with incestuous electronics to eek out fractional MPG.
