    The numbers on this chart were pretty surprising. Just goes to show how far internal combustion technology has come.

        So you could buy a bigger heavier faster car in '70 for less money and that's without even correcting if modern tires were put on the old car. What's the marketing group trying to do here? Show that you get less for your money now?

        I could see them using lateral G statistics, gas mileage, emissions, or other things to make the Mazda look good but I don't see what this "infographic" shows that helps them sell Miatas..

            Seems exceedingly unlikely the 454's correct tach was rated for 6,500 redline

              Well, the modern version of that engine redlines at 7,000 in the production Z06.
