NB Miata chassis build for 949 Racing, AKA "Bubbles"

    I love the fuel cell location. The thought of having 80lbs of fuel hanging off the rear of the car has always bothered me. Especially for enduros. I'd imagine the car changes quite a bit when the tank goes from full to empty. Do you have to build a firewall or anything when placing the tank forward like that? If so, does it have to extend all the way up to the roof or can you maintain rear visibility? Thanks!

      TC Design PTE build

      Gallery of pics of the completed car. I decided to go a different direction with my racing and never completed the car. We continue to provide parts and support for NASA PT Miata racers around the country. One such customer wanted to build a no holds barred PTE Miata and bought the bare tub from us.               Funny thing is, now with the new mufflers. My car is now quitter then most Miata's. It's more like > ffp ffp ffp. The down side to that is, I've been hit more when over taking slower cars.

                    Having spent 2 seasons racing a Miata with SCCA and NASA, supported by 7s Only Racing of Buttonwillow Raceway and traveling with their dedicated race series of rotary engine race cars that look like 3rd gen. RX-7, I have heard that awful sound more than most. Plus I raced a Formula Mazda with a 13-B for 1.5 years. Brap, brap, brap, brap, brap . . .
