    Renaming of Firebird International Raceway

The long-term lease for Firebird International Raceway ran out in 2013, and the new principal-lease holder has renamed the four-track racing complex "Wild Horse Pass MotorSports Park". The four road-racing circuits at this very large and diverse facility are essentially the same in layout and name as they were during the previous lease period for "Firebird International Raceway" (see area and individual track diagrams in the post above).

The four separate road-racing circuits are known locally as:

    1) The Bob Bondurant School of High Performance Driving. This track is only rarely used for public track events and is the same separate Bob Bondurant driving school lease area as existed under the previous Firebird Raceway lease.

    2) The Wild Horse Pass - West Track (aka, the Bondurant - West Track). The Bob Bondurant School of High Performance Driving is the new lease holder for this track and also the previous area and racetrack dedicated to the Bob Bondurant driving school under the previous Firebird lease; however, the West Track continues to be regularly rented out by the Bob Bondurant driving school to club-racing and HPDE promoters for their public track events.

    3) The Wild Horse Pass - East Track. This track also continues to be routinely used for public club-racing and HPDE events.

    4) The Wild Horse Pass - Main Track. This track continues to include the NHRA drag-strip and adjacent area to the east. The NHRA drag-strip and paved runoff road extention continue to constitute the long main-straightaway for the Main Track which also includes an "infield area" behind and to the east of the NHRA bleachers along the drag-strip where the principal Main Track area of several turns and short straights is located. The in-field area behind the bleachers is connected to the drag-strip via a long sweeping left-hand 180-degree turn off the south end of the drag-strip runoff road, and on the north end the in-field area of the Main-Track reconnects via a tighter left-hand 180-degree turn to the north end "starting-line" area of the drag-strip which is the beginning of the long Main Track straightaway.
