  • N/A Spec Miata Chassis for sale or Part-Out

My last ad was whack. This one is a little more clear...

    1.6 Spec Miata Part-Out

I crashed pretty hard at Fontana into another car bending the front left part of the tub. In addition the subframe, control arms, shock and sway-bar end link - oh and the fender exploded off the car and is now roadkill. I've decided sell it as is or part-out if necessary - lots of good stuff that is not going to be used on my new SM including the pro Built 1.6 motor with less than 10hrs on it.

The most valuable part of the car is the roll cage (has NASA Log Book), which can be moved to another car or you could repair this chassis. The cage was built by Groma Engineering and is one of the nicest I've seen, paid $6500 for it in 2009. The craftsmanship and attention to keeping weight down while being safe as hell is outstanding. The rear down-tube mounting plates go fully around the shock mount access hole (the strongest part of the rear of the car) and the custom package tray are some of the highlights.

The engine is stout yet built to be reliable. Under the control of a 949 team driver (Sonny) it was turning laps good enough to be on SM pole (Oct 2013). So it makes good power and could get it's self around a corner with the right pilot. The bottom-end is Technik Auto built, the head is Meathead Racing built, new ACT 4-puck clutch & pressure plate - All this all has less than 10hrs on it at an estimated 121+hp at the wheels.

    PRICES
    • Roll Cage (you remove or take the stripped tub): $3,300 obo
    • Complete 1.6 Pro Motor w/ Act 4-puck clutch kit (less than 10hrs on it) and used trans - you take out: $2,100 firm
    • Entire Rear subframe w/ control arms, 99 Uprights, Axels, & Torsen Diff: SOLD
    • ESS 5-liter, 6-nozzle Fire System: SOLD
    • Koyo Rad (big one): SOLD
    • E-Street (Drago) front brake calipers w/ braided lines (20hrs): $225 firm
    • 5X rear brake calipers w/ braided lines (40hrs): $180 firm
    • 1.6 SM F&R Sway Bars w/ bushings (no endlinks): $125 firm
    • I'll add more items in additional posts as I think of them.

Truth in advertising is a good thing . . .
The deposed former Sheriff of trackHQ . . .

              2006 Porsche 997 Carerra Coupe 6-MT - daily driver
1992 Honda (Acura) NSX 5-MT - classic investment I couldn't resist and occasionally drive
2004 Honda S2000 AP2 6-MT - my last track day car (FOR SALE or not, depending on how I feel when I fall out of bed tomorrow morning)
2006 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX MR 6-MT - when I need a backseat, 4-doors, or a real trunk, and still want to haul ass . . .

A quick browsing of the NASA rules states pretty clearly that 1.6 and 1.8 cars must use their original respective uprights, even when using a 4.30 Torsen.
