  • Rally school in Finland, learing to drive in snow

How much fun would this be?

The deposed former Sheriff of trackHQ . . .

    2006 Porsche 997 Carerra Coupe 6-MT - daily driver
1992 Honda (Acura) NSX 5-MT - classic investment I couldn't resist and occasionally drive
2004 Honda S2000 AP2 6-MT - my last track day car (FOR SALE or not, depending on how I feel when I fall out of bed tomorrow morning)
2006 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX MR 6-MT - when I need a backseat, 4-doors, or a real trunk, and still want to haul ass . . .

I only viewed parts of the video without sound, but it looks like they make you fix your car and dig it out of the snow yourself after you crash? Guess that's part of the fun

Who cares? That student car is worth about 5 cents. Looks like a blast to me.

That car looks to be a Ford Mexico Escort. They had Ford Casworth motors, Very fast little car.
That's not a Typo, I just can't spell no so well.

Escort is FWD and not very good for fun in the snow.It looks more like old Opel Kadett or Ascona, both RWD.
Driving in the snow is one experience that everybody should try at least.Pretty much cannot be compared to anything.
I am out of the snow driving for 7 years now and I terribly miss it,and i probably losing valuable skills.I need to go back to Europe next winter.

i thought Euro Escorts of that time period were RWD, because there is another video of Travis Pastrana learning how to drive a rally car in one.

Nope, not a Mexico Escort. They are bad ass little RWD cars.

British Escort was also RWD, and looks just like these.

All Mk I/II Escorts, regardless of market, were RWD. It was in the very early 1980s that Escorts became FWD (the same time they appeared in the US. That was originally the "World Car" although by the time everyone dickered about I think they only true common part between US and ROW Escorts was the blue oval badge).

Here's the Top Gear bit where they sent James May to Finland to learn how to drive on gravel.

The race toward the end looks like fun. What LeMons should be.

ok, you guys are not getting it. The car's Name is a "Mexico Escort" or MK Escort" not a Mexican escort. All though Those are just as lively. Their a little less money. But with some of them. You get the donkey show.
